We're going to do the Zeeman effect today. Unfortunately, I've never found a single great treatment of this topic. You can check out how it's done in Pethick and Smith's book (e-reserves) or Wolfgang Ketterle's lecture notes. I've not checked Ketterle's notes on this topic for accuracy, but there is a significant error rate for those notes on other topics.
