Today we're going to finish off two-level quantum systems. I'll go over Ramsey experiments, spin echo, density matrices in 2-level systems and decoherence.

Assigned reading:

Look at Cohen-Tannoudji's book, p437-442 and p 470-475 (e-reserves)

Read Chapter 4 of Meystre and Sargent's book (link). Some of that material will be out of context, but do your best to make sense of it.
