Quantum Physics II
Physics 487
Fall 2005

Welcome to Physics 487. This is the second semester of a two semester course in quantum mechanics. If you did not take the first semester (Physics 486) at UIUC, the web page is here. I will assume that you know the quantum mechanical solutions to the harmonic oscillator and the Coulomb potential, and understand ladder and angular momentum operators.

This semester we will study time independent and time dependent perturbation theory as well as some other approximation techniques, and radiation and scattering.

Announcements:
  • The final exam is graded.
The average score was 69 (better than I feared - the exam was too long).
  • Final grades have been entered. See the gradebook.
I will be around all week, if you want to discuss your grade.
