Things to keep in mind
- You will be expected to use calculus as a tool for solving problems.
In the course of this class you will develop general problem solving skills.
Techniques involving differential equations and vector calculus will be reviewed
as necessary.
- I expect that you know the material of the prerequisite courses, Physics 211 , Physics 212 and Physics 325, and of your prior math courses (calculus and differential equations). Review your notes from those courses as necessary.
- You should read the appropiate sections in the textbook and lecture notes throroughly. You'll find it useful to go over the reading again for your homework assignments.
- It is very important that you stay on top of the homework problems and that you leave enough time to solve them. The problem session is a place were you can practice problem solving skills, while having an instructor nearby to help you. You'll find that the best way to learn physics is through solving problems.
- Read your e-mail. I will send out e-mail messages with schedule information
and other timely items, as well as posting information on the web page.
