Assignments & Grading
Your
grade in this course will be based on class participation (30%), a weekly
3-question homework assignment (30%), and a take-home final exam at the end of
the semester (40%)
Late Policy for Attendance
Attendance
counts for 50 points each week. If you're 8 minutes or more late, that drops to
25 points ... and 15 minutes or more late merits a zero.
Late Policy for Homework
Homework
is due at the beginning of each class. If you don't make the deadline, you lose
a cumulative 25% of your grade for each day that you are late, up to a maximum
loss of 50%. After one week, no points are possible any more. If you don't have
your homework ready by the beginning of class, place it in our TA's mailbox on
the second floor of Loomis. And please note: the deadline is the beginning
of class. It's not acceptable to work on the homework during our brief 2-hour
class period, so anyone turning in their assignment at the end of class gets the -25% penalty, as
well as an attendance penalty.
